pre-trip trauma [Nov. 25th, 2009|05:17 am]
[Current Music |you alone are good]

Who says that people with big houses are happy people?
Who says that people with money in their pockets are happy people?
Who says that people who gets to tour around the world are happy people?
Who says that the happiest people on earth are those who get all that they want?

Is the world telling you that?

Don't be deceived.

Man is never satisfied.

little covets begets bigger covets.

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they shall be satisfied.

i know You hear me [Nov. 16th, 2009|11:05 pm]
[Current Music |Somewhere in the middle]

Father, you know this heart is so confused. This heart that loves both the light and the dark. But Lord, it's so true. So true that man cannot serve two masters. It's either right or left. Not rightleft nor leftright. Holy spirit will you not impart in me Your wisdom? Letting my yes be yes, and no be no? Will you not guide my steps lest my foot dash upon the stone?

A thousand times I've failed, still your mercy remains. Should I stumble again, still I can call Your name.

Father, today the topic of my future educational prospects came up.. Only You, Abba, only you know the deepest secrets of my heart. You know of the things that i'm unwilling to give up. You know of the things that I like to wrestle with. You know them all... All my desires. Please Lord, take each yearning of my heart and evaluate them. refine them. Chasten them. Reign them.

If it be Thy will, send me.

Just how close can I get to my surrender without losing all control?
Fearless warriors wrapped in a picket fence,
reckless abandon wrapped in common sense
Deep water faith in the shallow end
With eyes wide open to differences -
The God we want and the God who is.
Are we willing to trade our dreams for His?
Or are we caught somewhere in the middle?

Lord I feel you in this place
And I know that you're by my side even through these nights
when I'm caught in the middle.

Wise choices are tough choices made worthwhile.

Are we caught somewhere in the middle?
Are we, am I really, ready to make the tough choices?

Lord Prop us up [Nov. 10th, 2009|10:28 am]
                       LORD PROP US UP

Every time I am asked to pray, I think of the old deacon who always
prayed, 'Lord, prop us up on our leanin' side.' After hearing him pray
that prayer many times, someone asked him why he prayed that prayer so
 fervently.

 He answered,

'Well sir, you see, it's like this... I got an old barn out back. It's
been there a long time; it's withstood a lot of weather; it's gone through
a lot of storms, and it's stood for many years..

It's still standing. But one day I noticed it was leaning to one side a
bit. So I went and got some pine poles and propped it up on its leaning
 side so it wouldn't fall.

Then I got to thinking about that and how much I was like that old barn.
I've been around a long time.

I've withstood a lot of life's storms. I've withstood a lot of bad
weather in life, I've withstood a lot of hard times, and I'm still
standing too. But I find myself leaning to one side from time to time,
so I like to ask the Lord to prop us up on our leaning side, 'cause I
figure a lot of us get to leaning at times.

 Sometimes we get to

 leaning toward anger,

 leaning toward bitterness,

 leaning toward hatred,

 leaning toward cussing

 leaning toward self pity,

leaning toward a lot of things that we shouldn't.

 So we need to pray,

'Lord, prop us up on our leaning side, so we will stand straight and tall
 again, to glorify the Lord.''

Ever felt like nothing seems enough?

Sometimes people around just makes you feel not good enough no matter how hard you try to proof yourself? It never seems enough. and we'd lose heart.

No intelligent enough, not diligent enough, not filial enough, not independent enough, not as perfect as they wish you'd be..

Ever felt that? I did.

I am just so thankful that i've found the SomeOne who loves and embraces all my strengths and weaknesses.

Waiting on the Lord [Sep. 10th, 2009|05:49 pm]
[Tags|]
[Current Music |Faithful Father]

Hello! Greetings from Cambodia(;

A thought while reading on the bus as we travel to Cambodia(:

Surrendering comes not from mere words of our lips but the complete harmony of body. mind, spirit and soul as we quieten down to wait on the Lord. We've been soo caught up with the works and mere manly praise that we have truly neglected the importance of waiting on the Lord in tranquil composure (so often!) which He can take to teach us of surrendering and re-communing with Him.

"Waiting is a time of silent love.  Praise cries boldly, "God, i see these excellent qualities of Your nature." Waiting says softly, "God, i love You.

Öh Lord! How You just blew my mind away!

                Being Obedient

Scriptural Text: Luke 1:38 - "I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered.
"May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left her.

John 2:5. His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you."
In order to keep God’s favor upon us we must be obedient and keep God’s
commandments. I remember a saying that says "Nothing from nothing leaves
nothing". You must have something, if you want to be with me. If you want
God’s favor you must have something and that something is faith. You must
be willing to take risks, be obedient and go where God leads you. God lead
me to minister in a juvenile detention center and I dragged my feet. My
first excuse was I didn’t have anyone to go with me.. No matter how many
time I tossed that excuse out, God reminded me…but I told YOU to go. The
state of the youth today is alarming! I am convinced if people know
better, they do better. If they had better information, they will make
better decisions. If they have access to resources, then there can be no
excuse as to why they are not trying to improve their situation. With that
in mind I prayed to God, prepare me a body and I’ll go. Give me the

knowledge and fruits of the spirit so that I can minister to the young
people. Sure enough, my territory was expanded and the opportunity was
laid out before me and what did I do? I came up with an excuse. I don’t
want to go alone or, what about attending church on Sundays. Excuses do
not matter! When God ordains you, sets you aside and gives you an anointed
word – there is no way of avoid doing what thus said the Lord. When you
have been set aside by God and given an assignment sooner or later you
will do what thus said the Lord! It is best to be obedient immediately
otherwise you will find yourself going in circles instead of going on the
straight path which God has planned for you. Those who are obedient and
humbly serve God produce good fruit. Someone will be blessed by your work.
Keep the faith and take the risks of fulfilling your assignment. Our God
 can be fully trusted!

 God bless you! Minister Michele

[Current Music |come to Jesus]

Come to Jesus
Weak and wounded sinner
Lost and left to die
O, raise your head, for love is passing by
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus and live!

Now your burden's lifted
And carried far away
And precious blood has washed away the stain, so
Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus and live!

And like a newborn baby
Don't be afraid to crawl
And remember when you walk
Sometimes we fall...so
Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus and live!

Sometimes the way is lonely
And steep and filled with pain
So if your sky is dark and pours the rain, then
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus and live!

O, and when the love spills over
And music fills the night
And when you can't contain your joy inside, then
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus and live!

And with your final heartbeat
Kiss the world goodbye
Then go in peace, and laugh on Glory's side, and
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus and live!

Sometimes you just can't help but cry..
in marvel of the Lord's greatness, holiness, mercy and grace.
Realising that your "deep" knowledge about the Lord is only thus small
and yet He cradles you like a precious baby.
Come to Jesus,
let all your fear, stubbornness and pride seep into insignificance.

[Current Music |Reaching for You]

 When you realise that enough is never enough;
When you see that a cupful is yet to be filled full.
That's when your heart and soul truly desiring for the Lord.

"That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample."

Holy Dissatisfaction
Ceaseless Devotion
Unrivaled Determination

Do we see the matters and desires of the Lord like how Apostle Paul does?

*******************

God's Measure of Success

Success in God’s eyes is being totally fulfilled in ministering to him. Such servants aren’t striving to “make it” or seeking earthly security. They only want to know their Lord and to minister to him.

Think about the 100 prophets hidden by Obadiah (1 Kings 18:4). They lived an isolated existence in caves for at least three to four years, during a severe famine. These men had no outside ministry. They were completely out of the public’s view, forgotten by most people. They couldn’t even share in Elijah’s victory on Mount Carmel. No doubt, the world would call them failures, insignificant men who hadn’t accomplished anything.

Yet God had given these devoted servants the precious gift of time. They had days, weeks, even years to pray, study, grow and minister to the Lord. You see, God was preparing them for the day when he would release them to minister to his people. Indeed, these same men would shepherd those who returned to God under Elijah’s ministry.

Years ago, the Lord blessed me with this gift of time. Before I ever Pastored a church, I went into the woods and preached to the birds and trees. I had no plans, no agenda, no dreams. I only wanted to get to know God’s heart. So I prayed daily, seeking the Lord and ministering to him. And I marked my Bible from cover to cover. I was hidden, not seen by anyone. But God knew my address all along.

My advice is, “Quit looking for ministry. Spend your time seeking God instead. He knows where to find you. He’ll summon you when he sees you are ready. Forget what others are doing. Strive to be a success at God’s throne. If you’re ministering to the Lord and praying for others, you are already a success in his eyes!

Addiction's cure [Aug. 29th, 2009|10:55 pm]
[Tags|]

Sometimes in life when all seems to be breaking apart
there is One who is able to fix it all.
Sometimes when tears just flow like a broken tap,
there is an amazing Mechanic who's able to stop it all.
Sometimes when emotions just begin to fluster up,
there is a Cure that leaves no traces behind.

Are you looking for this Miracle?
His name is Jesus(:

                       When Sin Takes Charge
                          by Richard Mansel

We face decisions every day and their consequences will define our lives.
Will we choose wisely? Will we put our trust in Christ and his word to
 lead us?

We have a choice of whether to follow Christ or not. He says, "Come to Me,
all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew
 11:28, NKJV).

Righteousness is like being on a path where we must remain if we will be
pleasing to God. Satan is on the side of the road trying to lure us away
with bright, shiny, sexy, alluring things that will draw our attention
 away from our goal.

Just like Little Red Riding Hood, we can stray from the path and enter the
dangerous, dark woods where the hungry wolf resides.

The lure of sin brings to mind addictions. We can define an addict as, "To
cause to become physiologically or psychologically dependent on a habit-
forming substance." They have given ownership of their lives to a
substance that will be satisfied with nothing less than total
 annihilation.

Addiction is progressive. The addiction becomes a separate entity and a
ubiquitous part of our lives, constantly whispering in our ears,
encouraging us to do its bidding. It knows when we are weak and vulnerable
and charts our failures so it can use the knowledge against us. No weapon
 is spared in this war.

Addiction is merciless in its viciousness. Few can survive its assaults. A
vibrant person is transformed into a shell of their former selves. They
will degrade themselves to any level to find their next fix. Shame no
 longer becomes them.

Solomon writes about the progressive dangers of alcohol. It appears
friendly until it devours us (Proverbs 23:29-35).

 Sin is also progressive.
"But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and
enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and
sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death" (James 1:14-15).

When we give Satan an inroad, he will quickly begin dismantling our lives.
He has no conscience or remorse (Romans 6:23a). "For the wages of sin is
death". His hunger is insatiable and we have no recourse without Christ.
(Romans 6:23b) but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ
 our Lord.

"Resist the devil and he will flee from you" (James 3:7). Yet, we can only
do this with the power given us by Jesus, the source of consummate
 goodness (Ephesians 1:18-19).

"Thanks be to God for this indescribable gift!" (2 Corinthians 9:15).

Gentle Strength [Aug. 29th, 2009|03:13 pm]
[Tags|]

"feelings may change, but God's Word will still remain the same..."

                                 Gentle Strength

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that
whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."1

"In her memoirs, an anonymous woman writes of her experiences as a field
nurse in the Civil War. She worked for the Confederate forces, patching up
dozens of wounded, sick soldiers every day. One day at the war's end, news
came that President Lincoln would be visiting this Confederate field
hospital. Many of the rebel soldiers were terrified of meeting him. Surely
Lincoln was a monster, and he would treat the Confederate soldiers
cruelly! But when Lincoln entered the hospital tent, he began to cry. He
bent over the injured soldiers' cots and spoke softly to them. He patted
their hands and stroked their hair, just as a father might do. And when he
left, the men couldn't stop talking about what a good man he was. They had
expected a tyrant, and found instead a kind and gentle and forgiving
 leader."

In childhood days I used to believe that God was out to get me for any
wrongs I might do. And, if I committed big or bad enough sins, he might
even kill me. Unfortunately, that came from how I felt about someone who
had a profound impact on my early life. Unfortunately, I had mistakenly
projected my feelings towards him onto God, the Heavenly Father.

How glad I am to learn how wrong I was. It is true that God is against all
sin and wrongdoing, not because he's out to zap us, but because he is
truly a loving Father who wants to protect us from hurting ourselves and
others—and to save us from the ultimate consequences of sin which is
eternal death, which, in turn, is eternal separation from God, the author
 of all love and life.

The fact is that no matter what you and I have ever done or have failed to
do, God loves us with an everlasting, unconditional love. But he does want
us to come to him for forgiveness and to help us live wholesome,
 meaningful, and loving lives.

Suggested prayer: "Dear God, thank you that you love and accept me as I
am, and that you also love me too much to leave me as I am. Please help me
to know that I know that my sins are forgiven and that I have accepted
your gift of eternal life. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer.
 Gratefully, in Jesus' name, amen."

John 3:16-17 (NIV) "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and

When everything that you see in your life daily is all about gratifying self and merry-making. How did you react? Would you conform or would your heart break like how Jesus' does?

"I sent you the wind to remind you of My love."

Deciding to invest your life into others is not always the ideal choice.
Deciding to live righteously for the Lord is not always the easiest way out.
Deciding to give all out for the right Cause may be the smoothest path.
But they'll all be the wisest decisions i ever make.
For the Lord will prosper the work of my hand if i be within His will.

The Cause for the Demonic Attacks Coming Against You

"What triggers demonic attacks against you, your dream, your vision, your
calling, your business, your family, your church, or your ministry? What
makes the devil so upset that he rises up to resist you and your efforts?
If God chose you, why are you experiencing so many hassles and
difficulties along the way to your goal of fulfilling all He has called
you to do?" - Rick Renner

Are you undergoing attacks from Satan at this moment? Do you feel as
though every time you make progress in the Kingdom of God here comes an
attack trying to push you back? Do you feel sometimes as though you are up
against a brick wall in trying to accomplish what God Almighty has called
you to do in this life?

We can say assuredly that the reason you are being attacked is because the
call of God is on your life and the devil is scared silly to see you walk
in that calling 100%. The attacks are meant to rob you of your
effectiveness and to hinder your progress. He knows that if you walked in
your calling 100%, you would do some mighty great damage to his kingdom.
It's time to get mad at the devil and go for the 100%!

Before saying another word, let's look into the Holy Scriptures and
 examine Paul's life for instruction.

2 Timothy 1:11 says - "Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an
apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles."

Acts 9:15 says - "But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a
chosen vessel unto Me, to bear My name before the Gentiles, and kings, and
 the children of Israel."

Romans 1:1 says - "Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an
apostle, separated unto the gospel of God."

Ephesians 3:7-8 says - "Whereof I was made a minister, according to the
gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of His
power. Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace
given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of
 Christ."

1 Timothy 2:7 says - "Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle,
(I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not,) a teacher of the Gentiles in
 faith and verity."

2 Timothy 1:1 says - "Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of
 God..."

The above Scriptures indicate to us that Paul was appointed by God... set
apart by the authority of Jesus to do a task...God's chosen instrument...a
slave of Jesus...a servant acting under the direction of the Great
Master...having both the grace and power of God mightily at work in his
life...and working in accordance with the Divine will and purpose.

Because of this, he came under the severe attack of Satan.

Acts 9:16 and 2 Timothy 1:12 confirm this fact - "For I will show him how
great things he must suffer for My name's sake" and "For the which cause I
 also suffer these things..."

Paul would suffer as a result of outside forces or outside circumstances.
He would undergo physical suffering due to persecution...mental suffering
due to outside pressures...and financial suffering due to monetary
hardships. These outside attacks would be stirred up by Satan and caused
by the calling that rested on his life.

Let's look a little closer into what really stirs up demonic activity in
one's life. Why exactly did Paul become the target for Satan's vicious
 attacks?

 1) He Was Appointed By God

2 Timothy 1:11 says - "Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an
apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles..."

1 Timothy 2:7 says - "Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an
apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not,) a teacher of the
 Gentiles in faith and verity."

Paul was appointed by God to preach the Gospel. He was set apart,
ordained, or put into the ministry by Christ Himself. He was especially
commissioned by God to preach the Truth, the whole Truth, and nothing but
the Truth - fervently, affectionately, and perseveringly - to the
Gentiles. He was sent by God and not by man.

 2) He Was God's Chosen Instrument

Acts 9:15 says - "But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a
chosen vessel unto Me, to bear My name before the Gentiles, and kings, and
 the children of Israel."

Paul was God's instrument of choice...excellent or well-adapted agent used
to accomplish His purpose...or vessel in which the Gospel message was
 lodged.

 3) He Was A Slave Of Jesus

Romans 1:1 says - "Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an
apostle, separated unto the gospel of God."

Paul was Jesus' willing slave who was at the control of His Master. He was
subject to His will and wholly at His disposal. He was the entire property
of His Master - knowing that his life was not his own and all in his life
belonged to his Heavenly Owner. He was wholly devoted in the spirit of
sacrificial obedience to the constant and complete performance of the
 Divine Will.

 4) He Had The Grace & Power Of God Mightily At Work In His Life

Ephesians 3:7 says - "Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift
of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of His power."

Paul was not called into the ministry based on his own seeking or merit.
It was not according to his education or acquired learning. He did not
make himself a minister. It was God Who supplied and furnished him for His
work. He was "made a minster" according to the inworking of God's power -
in consequence of the ministerial gift of the grace of God.

 5) He Worked In Accordance With The Divine Will & Purpose

2 Timothy 1:1 says - "Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of
 God..."

Paul's calling did not come by the will of man or by his own will. He
didn't thrust himself into the office of an Apostle or take this honor
unto himself. It did not come by any merit of his own. It came as a result
of the counsel and design of God's infinite wisdom and goodness.

What stirred up the demonic activity against Paul and his ministry?

The fact that he was set apart by God for this work...was God's well-
adapted instrument for the job...was Jesus' willing slave - devoted to
doing His will in all things...was furnished for the job by God's mighty
power and grace...and in the perfect will of God in doing so.

All of these factors made him a threat to the Kingdom of Darkness.

There are many today who are no threat to Satan and his kingdom. The
reason being is because they called themselves into the ministry. They or
some other man appointed them to the position they are in today. They are
not sold-out to God nor are they in the least bit concerned about being in
the will of God for their lives. Resultantly, Satan doesn't bother with
 them.

However, you may be reading this - while relating to Paul the Apostle.
Indeed you are a threat to Satan and his kingdom. You are constantly under
demonic attack. You know that God called you into the ministry to do a
work for Him. God has chosen you to do a specific work for Him. You know
that! You are in the will of God - fulfilling His plan and purpose for
your life. And you are fully surrendered to do His will and His will
alone. You realize that your life is not your own; it belongs to the One
Who purchased it with His Blood - none other than the Lord Jesus!

Because of this - you find yourself on HELL'S BLACK LIST!

Then receive this word of encouragement that you read earlier in this
message - We can say with all assuredly that the reason you are being
attacked is because the call of God is on your life and the devil is
scared silly to see you walk in that calling 100%. The attacks are meant
to rob you of your effectiveness and to hinder your progress. He knows
that if you walked in your calling 100%, you would do some mighty great
damage to his kingdom. It's time to get mad at the devil and go for the
 100%!

C'mon, get mad at the devil!
Be determined like never before to go for the 100%!
Don't let anything or anyone stop you!

May God Bless His Word, Connie

A timely message [Aug. 9th, 2009|01:04 am]

This was a timely message for me (:

I received a request for some encouragement today. God has an amazing
way of providing at the right time. This is a bit long but it is so
wonderful and true.  Take the time to read the whole thing.  You will
 gain from it.
       God Bless You!  Keith

                      Some Encouraging Words
                         By Rick Warren

With all the bleak news coming out these days, we’re all vulnerable to
catching the highly contagious disease of discouragement. It’s easy to
catch and easy to pass on. But the good news is that discouragement is
also easily curable if we follow God’s prescription.

The Bible tells the story of Nehemiah, a Jewish leader who was assigned
the enormous task of rebuilding the broken-down city wall around
Jerusalem. After years of war, neglect, and decay, there wasn’t much wall
left. At first, mobilizing the citizens for this urban renewal project was
easy. Everyone was excited and worked hard. But soon the job bogged down,
and everyone wanted to give up. Nehemiah was faced with the likely failure
 of an unfinished project.

Fortunately, Nehemiah was a brilliant leader who understood the four
common causes of discouragement, and the appropriate cures. The book of
Nehemiah, chapter 4, is a timely passage for us today.

 Fatigue
The most common cause of discouragement is fatigue. Halfway through the
project we learn, “Then the people of Judah began to complain, ‘The
workers are getting tired’” (Nehemiah 4:10 NLT). The people became
demoralized because they were overworked and exhausted. It wasn’t a
spiritual problem; they were just worn out.

When people tell me they are discouraged, the first thing I ask them is,
“How much sleep are you getting every night?” Sometimes the most spiritual
thing you can do is just go to bed and sleep. The first antidote to
discouragement is to rest your body! It is amazing how much better your
situation looks after a good night’s sleep.

 Frustration
In Nehemiah’s wall-rebuilding project, the second reason the people got
disheartened was frustration. The people said, “There is so much rubble to
be moved!” (Nehemiah 4:10 NLT). What is rubble? Rubble is all the debris—
broken rocks, dried-out mortar, and miscellaneous trash—that inevitably
accumulates in any construction project. As they worked, the rubbish piled
up higher, so much that it hindered, then stopped the actual work on the
wall, and the people lost sight of their goal. You can’t eliminate rubble
in life, but you can recognize it and remove it periodically, just like
carpenters sweep the floor each night even though the project isn’t
 completed.

What is the rubbish or “rubble” in your life? It’s the trivial things that
pile up that waste your time, consume your energy, and distract your focus
from what matters most. Rubble can be bad habits, time-wasters,
interruptions, and even some distracting relationships.

If frustration is causing you to feel like giving up, the antidote is to
pause, take a time out, and remove the rubble! Do a personal spring-
cleaning of your schedule, your expenses, and your commitments. Eliminate
the clutter. Keep what matters most. Simplify your life! A recession is
the best time to do that. Besides, no one can do everything and please
 everyone.

 Failure
The third reason we sometimes feel like giving up is when we’re
overwhelmed by all we have to do, and think that we’re bound to fail at
it. The third complaint of Nehemiah’s work crew was that they simply could
not get it done! “We will never be able to build the wall by ourselves.”
It is impossible. The job is too big. The sense of failure filled their
 minds.

Because the task was taking longer than imagined at first, their
confidence faded: We were foolish to even try, they thought.

I hear this cause of discouragement in the voices of people who’ve lost t
their jobs, are upside down on their mortgage, or feel hopeless about ever
 getting out of debt.

Everybody fails. How you handle your failures in life reveals your
character, and how much you trust God. Do you have a pity party? Do you
blame others? Do you put yourself down? None of those responses will end
your demoralization. Instead of giving up on your goal, what you need to
do is to approach it in a new, fresh, different way. You may be doing the
right thing—but in the wrong way! Ecclesiastes 8:6 says, “There is a right
time and a right way to do everything, but we know so little” (GNT).

Instead of giving in, Nehemiah simply reorganized the project, creating
teams to work together. Half of the team would work on the wall while the
other half stood guard against terrorists who didn’t want the wall built:
“So I posted people behind the lowest places along the wall—the open
places—and I put families together with their swords, spears, and bows”
 (Nehemiah 4:13 NCV).

This is the third antidote to discouragement: Reorganize your life. If you
feel like you are failing in marriage, business, health, finances, or
anything else, it is time to try a new approach with God. Don’t give up!
Get some godly advice for a different strategy from someone at church.

By the way, notice that when the people got discouraged, Nehemiah formed
them into small groups for support, protection, and accountability. If
you’re not in a small group, I’m not surprised if you’re discouraged. God
never intended for you to face your problems by yourself. Ecclesiastes
4:9-10 says “Two people are better than one because …if one falls down,
the other can help him up. But it is bad for the person who is alone and
falls, because no one is there to help” (NCV).

 Fear
The fourth common reason for giving up is fear. If you allow worry,
anxiety, and fear to live in your heart, discouragement will be
guaranteed. In Nehemiah’s case, the people were afraid of neighbouring
enemies who were committed to preventing the rebuilding of the wall around
Jerusalem. First, these enemies criticized the wall builders, then they
ridiculed them, and finally they threatened them with harm and death. The
builders were told repeatedly, “While you are working, before you realize
it, we will swoop down on you and kill you and end your work!” That would
probably discourage you from working too!

It is interesting that the builders who lived closest to the enemy were
the ones who got discouraged first and wanted to give up. If you spend a
lot of time hanging out with naysayers, you will pick up their fears.

Nehemiah’s response to the fears of his workers was this: “Then as I
looked over the situation, I called together the nobles and the rest of
people and said to them, ‘Don’t be afraid of the enemy! Remember the Lord,
who is great and glorious’?” (Nehemiah 4:14 NLT). This is a fourth
antidote when you feel like giving up: Remember the Lord!

What does it mean to remember the Lord? It means to re-focus on God and
reconnect to his power for your life. To do this, you need to remember
three things about God. First, remember God’s goodness to you in the past.
Think about all the times he has taken care of you. That will lift your
 spirit.

Second, remember God’s closeness to you right now. Whether you feel his
presence or not, he is here and near. Third, remember God’s promise to
help you in the future. Get your mind off your problems and onto the Lord.

The Dutch author Corrie ten Boom once said, “If you look at the world,
you’ll be distressed. If you look within, you’ll be depressed. But if you
look at Christ, you’ll be at rest!” It all depends on what you are looking
 at.

God’s antidotes to discouragement caused by fatigue, frustration, failure,
and fear will work for you just as they did for Nehemiah thousands of
years ago: Rest your body! Remove the rubble! Reorganize your life!
Remember the Lord! And there’s one final principle in this story.

 Resist
The final advice Nehemiah gave was for the Israelites to fight it! “Fight
for your friends, fight for your families, and fight for your homes!” You
need to do the same. Resist the discouragement! Don’t give in or give up
without a fight! Every day, you face a spiritual battle whether you
realize it or not. Unseen forces of evil, negativity, and discouragement
are opposing you daily, seeking to neutralize your impact for good. The
Bible tells us that Satan’s job is to “accuse believers” and one of his
 great tools is discouragement.

But you do not have to listen to him. Discouragement is a choice, and no
one is forcing you to give in to it. So resist it! Refuse to quit! Hang on
and trust God in the middle of this recession, or anything else that is
 discouraging you.

In closing, let me leave you with these words: It is always too soon to
quit. Great people are just ordinary people with an extraordinary amount
of persistence. Hang in there! I’m praying for everyone who reads this.

So don’t get tired of doing what is good. Don’t get discouraged and give
up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time
 (Galatians 6:9).

  With thanks to Yvette

truly, i never knew what God has install for me but i know my mission and my motto. What is more important than to acknowledge His magnificence and that nothing is impossible for Him. to be living for Christ has never been easy. God didn't promise us one. but He definitely promised us that we'll not be going it through alone. indeed "no one says living a Christian live is easy. it is impossible. it's only when God is the sustainer then may we be able to reach the standards that God has for us". To be living wholly holy for the audience of One. not to be people pleaser but to please God alone. I might be crazy to some but i know my sanity is in Christ alone and praise God for that. How amazing is His love for me, IT'S BEEN SUCH A PRIVILEGE TO BE CALLED A CHILD OF GOD! to enjoy this exceptionally special relationship with Him. to know that even if i fall. He'll be the first One to pick me up. It may take ages for me to realise my transgressions but a moment to be forgiven and restored. i'm home(:

challenges and struggles and then His Glory [Jul. 14th, 2009|10:57 am]
For His strength is made perfect in my weakness,
thank You Lord.

From purpose drien like with Rick Warren(:

Do not fear deeper friendships.

In our Devotionals series, Pastor Rick Warren discusses the Bible passages that inspire him the most. Today's Devotional is based on this passage:

“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love, and of self-discipline” (2 Timothy 1:7 NIV).

When we’re full of fear and anxiety, we don’t get close to each other. We back off from each other. We’re afraid of being rejected, manipulated, vulnerable, hurt, or used. All of these fears cause us to disconnect in life.

This fear is as old as humanity. When Adam and Eve sinned, and God came looking for them, Adam said, “I was afraid . . . so I hid” (Genesis 3:10 NIV). People have been doing that ever since. We’re afraid, so we hide. We hide our true selves.

We don’t let people know what we’re really like. We don’t let them see the inside of us. Why? Because if we let people know what we’re like and they don’t like it; we’re up a creek without a paddle. Tough luck. Why am I afraid to tell you who I am? Because if I tell you who I am, and you don’t like me, I’m in for it. I have no alternative. So we wear masks and we pretend.

Fear does three terrible things to relationships:

1. Fear makes us defensive. We’re afraid to reveal ourselves. We defend ourselves. When people point out our weaknesses, we retaliate and defend ourselves.

2. Fear keeps us distant. We don’t let people get close to us. We want to withdraw, pull back. We want to hide our emotions. We don’t want to be open and honest. We become defensive and distant.

3. Fear makes us demanding. Whenever we’re insecure, and the more insecure we are, the more we try to control. So we try to have the last word in a relationship. We try to dominate, control. It’s always a symptom of fear and insecurity.
Where do you get the confidence, the courage, to take the first step in connecting with someone, to go into a deeper intimacy? Where do you get that courage?

You get it from God’s Spirit in your life. Paul tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For the Holy Spirit, God’s gift, does not want you to be afraid of people but to be wise and strong (courageous), and to love them and enjoy being with them” (LB).

How do you know when you’re filled with God’s Spirit? You’re more courageous in your relationships. You love people. You enjoy being with them. You’re not afraid of them because God’s Spirit is in your life. The Bible says “God is love,” and “Love casts out all fear.” The more of God you have in your life, the less of fear you’re going to have in your life.

So the starting point in connecting with anybody is to pause, pray, and say, “God, give me the courage to take the first step.” You need to do that now with a person you want to connect with.

Don't fear authentic relationships

“But if we live in the light, as God is in the light, we can share fellowship with each other. Then the blood of Jesus, God’s Son, cleanses us from every sin. If we say we have no sin, we are fooling ourselves, and the truth is not in us” (1 John 1:7-8 NCV).

Authentic fellowship is not superficial, surface-level chit-chat. It’s genuine, heart-to-heart, sometimes gut-level sharing.

It happens when people get honest about who they are and what is happening in their lives. They share their hurts, reveal their feelings, confess their failures, disclose their doubts, admit their fears, acknowledge their weaknesses, and ask for help and prayer.

Authenticity is the exact opposite of what you find in many churches. Instead of an atmosphere of honesty and humility, there is pretending, role-playing, politicking, and superficial politeness, but shallow conversation.

People wear masks, keep their guard up, and act as if everything is rosy in their lives. These attitudes are the death of real friendship.

It’s only as we become open about our lives that we experience authentic fellowship. The Bible says, “If we live in the light, as God is in the light, we can share fellowship with each other . . . If we say we have no sin, we are fooling ourselves” (1 John 1:7-8 NCV).

The world thinks intimacy occurs in the dark, but God says it happens in the light. We tend to use darkness to hide our hurts, faults, fears, failures, and flaws. But in the light, we bring them all out into the open and admit who we really are.

Of course, being authentic requires both courage and humility. It means facing our fear of exposure, rejection, and being hurt again.

Why would anyone take such a risk?

Because it’s the only way to grow spiritually and be emotionally healthy. The Bible says, “Make this your common practice: Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed” (James 5:16 MSG).

You can learn more about what God wants from you by reading The Purpose Driven Life.

putting forth love and faith [Jul. 14th, 2009|12:47 am]
[Tags|]

Sometimes i really am just so sick with all that's happening to me. All the things i have to go through that i just can't wait for God to call me home. All the tears i have to fight and put up a facade of nonchalance when deep down it really cuts me hard. All the rough night of tough talks that never cease to end in tears, anger and anxiety. How i just want to run to Your sweet embrace. or even hope to have the ability to force people to trust in You. but how carnal that thought is. ultimately, You are the God of love that teaches love and imparts love. surely should Your children preach and practice the love shared. I still need You each moment, though at times i may slip but You never fail to be there for me. Teach me to be lovable and to be loving always.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails

1 Cor 13:4-8
I need Your love in me.

I don't want a life that is ruled by riches and fame.
I don't want a life of mere pleasure and great games.
I want a life of persecution and faith.
I want a joyous life where souls are saved.
I want a life of blessed joy even when riches wane
I want a life of Christ, my greatest gain.

For me to live is Christ, to die is gain.

I just want to take every moment in life to breathe in your magnificent awesomeness and praise "O Lord! How majestic is Thy name!"

[Current Music |Fall in this place]

Sometimes, being part of the chase of daily life is just so tiring. To seek approval from men. To have the need to mete up to manly expectations in this rapidly developing society.

Question is, "is it really not exhausting? or is it just me alone?"

probably just a rant )

Colossians 3:12

Therefore as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothed yourselves in compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
teach me O dearest Friend.

A point to remember!
Man always fail you, but God never does.

We have a God small enough to hide in our hearts but Big enough to create the galaxy.
A God humble enough to be our Lamb but mighty enough to cleanse our sins!
A God so intangible and yet so real and undeniable!
A God so awesome and still so Loving(:

Father, Gracious God, i need You. Please work a miracle in my heart. changing me a man new. a heart pure that surges with love which floweth from You alone. There's many thing's i don't know. many things that i'm too proud to admit. break me now and sing a new melody of humility and love in my heart. I cry out. knowing that i'm close to 0. I need You to fill my empty heart once more, that i may strive to live in oneness with You, amazing God. I need to know You more intimately.

Lord I do not want to be living in compromise. I don't want to just live the sub-normal average Christian life. Reign over me. Let me come to You with knees bent. Here and now, Mold me and use me. Make me a woman after Your heart. To love You and to live for You. My source of life.

Let my prayer not just be mere empty words that have form but not the Power.

To live each moment of life joyously in the Lord.

You are the Beauty in dark times

 Dear Lord,

I thank You immensely for the message so close to my heart that it shot me right down. Father, i need no recognition, i need no compliments. i need You. Sorry for having made things out of myself. Through a tough week, Satan sown unbelief and i reciprocated to it. My lack of trust made me depend on my on strength to seek Your approval. How wrong i had been! All i needed was to kneel and pray. All i needed was to ask and seek from my Almighty God, and He would give forth strength and grace to me. Thank You Lord for surfacing to me this night to come to realisation that i've been trying too much by my own strength when what i really needed most was to trust and depend upon Your mighty hand. Thank You still for the past two down days for it was a valuable lesson learnt. Thank You for breaking down this stubborn pride in me. Keep me near the cross, clinging to it in good times and bad times. Depending upon it WHOLLY, with unwavering faith, that You are all sufficient. for what can my lowly human strength provide? Nothing but trouble. So Lord, i come back to You after my arduous journey of two void days. Rid me of my slothiness and lust of sleep that deprives me of my divine appointment with You daily. I need to meet You and see You in each moment of my life. Work mightily in and through me. do not let me go dear Father till You are through molding me. I have a choice, to be in or out, where there are no grey areas. And i've decided. i'm in and i'll always stick to it for it is where i truly meet Joy and Beauty and the Glory of this world. decided and gonna follow it through, starting right now. Thank You for answering my cries and bringing me back home. trusting You to lead me with each step of the way. What is mine is now Yours, as for me, teach me to present myself as a holy vessel for Your glory.

Break. Breaking. Broke.
Moldable. Molding. Molded.

He giveth more grace in times of trials
